I have had several GF pizzas since I changed my diet. They tend to be rather cardboard-like and rarely have a flavor that is appealing enough for me to comfortable order my favorite kind of pizza: cheese.
Ordering cheese pizza is the truest test of a pizzeria. With only cheese on the pizza, you can note the flavors of the sauce and crust. Most GF pizza is not good enough to pass this test. Sizzle Pie's GF crust is good enough for cheese to be the only topping. The crust is slightly chewy, with good flavor, and tastes like it was made in-house rather than ordered frozen in bulk. Available in two sizes: twelve-inch, and eighteen inch, the added expense is within the parameters those of us with a GF diet have come to expect ($1.00 more for a twelve-inch pie, $2.00 for an eighteen-inch pie), and unlike many places, it's completely worth the added expense. Their kitchen is not certified GF, so for those of you with high gluten sensitivity, Sizzle Pie is not for you. However, for those of you with low to medium gluten sensitivity, Sizzle Pie has fantastic GF pizza.
Topping selections are varied with toppings for the carnivores and the herbivores. They carry vegan items as well as GF selections and the vegan items are sliced and prepared on separate surfaces to avoid cross-contamination.
Overall, Sizzle Pie is a fantastic value and for a delicious pizza. After four different pizzas, I can say that the crust is delicious, and the sauce has had me making yummy noises like a five-year-old as I've eaten my pizza on more than one occasion. It's the GF pizza I've always wanted: it tastes like regular, gluten-filled pizza, but without the punishment.
